Art Analysis
Overlapping mottled shapes and squiggles
Shelly Bremmer presents an abstract artwork built from a dense collection of irregular marks. A large, multi-colored mass sits in the middle of the square frame, drawing the eye toward the center before it moves outward to smaller, fragmented patches. The composition lacks a clear foreground or background, appearing as a flat arrangement where shapes and jagged marks overlap and blend into one another.
The image contains a wide range of colors, including various shades of blue, pink, red, yellow, and green. Toward the edges of the frame, thin white squiggly lines scatter across the darker and more mottled shapes. These light marks contrast with the heavier, solid blocks of color that dominate the central area of the piece.
