Find the right size
Every Arthaus piece comes in a set of standard sizes. Here's exactly what each one measures — in centimetres and inches — plus how borders and matting work.
Print & frame sizes
All measurements are paper sizes — and for framed pieces, the size of the print inside the frame.

Please note
A few things worth knowing before you choose:
- All sizes shown are paper sizes — this includes our framed prints, where the figure refers to the artwork inside the frame.
- Where borders or matting are chosen, a minimum border of 1"–2.5" (2.5cm–6.25cm) is added around the image. The exact amount varies with the artwork's aspect ratio and paper size.
- Images are centred and padded for non-standard aspect ratios. Full-bleed prints have no border added.
- Refer to each product's images for a preview of how the artwork sits with its border or mat at every size.

How borders & matting work
A border (or a mounted mat, on framed pieces) gives the artwork room to breathe and draws the eye inward — it's part of what makes a print feel gallery-hung rather than poster-taped.
Because every artwork has its own proportions, the border isn't a fixed width. We add a minimum of 1"–2.5" and adjust it so the composition stays centred and balanced within the chosen paper size. If you'd prefer the image to run edge-to-edge, choose a full-bleed option where available — no border is added.
Still unsure which size suits your wall? As a rule of thumb, art should fill roughly two-thirds of the furniture or wall space beneath it. Ask our team and we'll happily advise.
