Art Analysis
Overlapping bands and concentric circles
This square composition is built from a dense arrangement of geometric shapes that fill the entire surface from edge to edge. Horizontal and vertical bands cross over one another to create a complex grid. Within this structure, the artist places a variety of squares, rectangles, and triangles. The image uses a flat perspective where every element sits on the same plane, using a wide range of colors including teal, pink, purple, and shades of orange.
Two large concentric circles sit near the top center of the grid, acting as a central feature amidst the smaller shapes. Smaller circles and squares are tucked into the corners and along the outer edges of the bands. The repeating patterns and intersecting lines create a busy surface where white sections sit alongside bright yellow and green tones. There are no letters or words included in the pattern.
