Art Analysis
Overlapping rings and angled intersections
This square piece presents a dense arrangement of geometric forms that cover the entire surface. Large concentric circles anchor the four corners and the middle, while a network of triangles and straight lines cuts across the space at various angles. Because the shapes overlap and intersect without a single central focus, the eye moves constantly across the flat, two-dimensional plane. The composition maintains a steady balance by filling the gaps between larger forms with smaller circles and thin, delicate lines.
The colors are limited to dark blue, teal, lime green, and off-white. Some sections of these colors show a subtle mottled texture rather than a solid, flat tone. While many lines run strictly horizontal or vertical, others slice diagonally through the rings, breaking up the rounded shapes. This arrangement of shapes and lines builds upon the artist's description of a modern abstract pattern by creating a complex, busy surface where no single element stands out more than the others.
