In this portrait-oriented watercolor, Kosunen explores the intricate architecture of a flower. The medium allows for a luminous quality where light seems to pass through the yellow petals, mimicking the way sunshine filters through a garden canopy. By focusing on a single botanical subject, the artist invites a close reading of organic form, highlighting the subtle shifts in hue and the rhythmic flow of the brushwork.

The composition emphasizes the vertical growth and inherent grace of the specimen. Rather than a static representation, the painting feels active and breathing, rooted in a deep observation of nature. The watercolor technique lends an airy, atmospheric quality to the piece, ensuring the vibrant yellow tones remain grounded by the gentle, bleeding edges characteristic of the style.
