In this botanical illustration, Katariina Kosunen explores the interplay between natural form and digital artifice. The composition focuses on the lush, waxy foliage of the Arabica plant, utilizing sharp lines and a high-contrast color scheme to define each leaf's silhouette. By stripping away traditional shading in favor of graphic clarity, the artist highlights the repetitive, soothing patterns found in the plant’s growth, turning a common agricultural subject into a vibrant piece of design.

The portrait orientation emphasizes the upward reach of the branches, creating a sense of vertical energy that fills the frame. Through a deliberate use of color, the piece moves beyond mere scientific documentation into the realm of expressive graphic design. The result is a balanced work that feels both grounded in the earth and distinctly modern in its execution, capturing the essence of the botanical world through a crisp, illustrative lens.
