In this portrait-oriented drawing, Kosunen utilizes the translucent nature of watercolour to build a scene that feels both light and grounded. The tulips rise with a naturalistic grace, their forms framing the feline subject in a way that suggests a shared, peaceful habitat. The artist avoids harsh outlines, allowing the pigment to define the soft texture of fur and the delicate pull of petals, resulting in a composition that honors the quiet rhythms of the natural world.

The work functions as a delicate study of form and botanical structure. By placing an animal within such a specific floral context, the piece moves beyond simple representation into a focused exploration of color and atmosphere. The choice of a vertical orientation emphasizes the upward growth of the flowers, creating a sense of height and airiness that complements the calm, seated posture of the cat.
