Art Analysis
Overlapping shapes and stippled circles
This vertical composition organizes several smooth, organic shapes against a light background. A large, solid form sits in the upper left, balanced by smaller shapes in the top right and lower left corners. Two dark, thin lines sweep across the image from the top, crossing over the other elements. The right side is dominated by a large circle filled with a stippled pattern that continues off the edge of the frame.
The colors are limited to shades of beige, tan, and cream, creating a muted appearance. The thin lines provide a sharp contrast to the soft edges of the larger shapes. While the solid forms appear flat, the stippled texture of the large circle adds a different visual quality to the right half of the work. These elements combine to form the minimalistic graphic art described by the artist.
This piece is part of a series that includes Mid-Century Modern No. 2 | brown and Mid-Century Modern No. 3 | brown, which share the same color scheme and abstract style.
