In this portrait-oriented composition, the artist focuses on the lively geometry of a winter gathering. Figures scatter across the ice in a delicate choreography, their forms defined by the sharp contrast of cold air and warm activity. The vertical framing emphasizes the height of the surrounding landscape, drawing the eye from the crowded foreground up toward a quiet, frost-dusted horizon.

The work avoids sentimentality by leaning into the physical sensations of the season—the scrape of blades on ice and the muffled atmosphere of a snowy day. By balancing the energetic clusters of people with the stillness of the winter environment, the artist creates a sense of place that feels lived-in and authentic to the experience of a shared outdoor tradition.
