In this work, the artist utilizes the heavy texture of oil paint to give form to a group of festive snowmen. The brushwork creates a sense of physical weight, making the cool blues of the night and the bright whites of the snow feel tangible and grounded. By focusing on a vertical composition, the piece draws the eye upward toward the night sky, emphasizing the solitude and peace of a landscape blanketed in winter frost.

The play of light across the rounded figures suggests a nearby source of warmth or moonlight, casting soft shadows that define the space. Rather than a flat depiction, the medium allows for a rich layering of color that suggests the crisp, biting air of a clear evening. It is a study of how simple, familiar forms can anchor a vast, dark environment through the deliberate use of impasto and tonal contrast.
