Four circles around white space
This graphic work arranges four large circular forms at the corners of a white rectangle. The shapes are partially cut off by the edges of the frame, which leaves the middle of the image as an open white area. The arrangement alternates between solid dark shapes and patterned ones. In the top-left and bottom-right, the circles are solid black. In the opposite corners, the circles contain a repeating pattern of small black marks. This layout creates a balanced look where the dark and light areas mirror each other across the center.
A thin gold ring sits inside each solid black circle, overlapping a smaller white interior. The patterned circles also feature a white cutout in their centers, though these lack the gold trim. The small black rectangular marks within the patterned sections are uniform in size and spread across the white background of those specific shapes. These details add a layer of fine texture to the otherwise smooth and flat blocks of color.
This piece continues the minimalist approach seen in other works from the same series, such as No. 1 and No. 3, by using a limited color scheme of black, white, and gold.
