Art Analysis
From the artist, Blackscatter
This piece is based on a satellite image from Google Earth, at 80 degrees North. The endless pieces of broken & melting ice you see here, are somewhere up there in the Arctic Circle, in the archipelago of Svalbard, which used to be surrounded by ice (the polar bear is not to scale 😝).
Illustration made For Planet Ocean 2025, Frozen Seas.
