This portrait-oriented study centers on the intricate details of traditional holiday baubles, emphasizing the weathered patina and specific craftsmanship of a bygone era. By isolating these objects, the artist invites a close inspection of the reflective surfaces and varied shapes that define classic winter celebrations. The vertical arrangement guides the eye through a rhythmic stack of color and light, mirroring the way ornaments hang heavily and expectantly on a bough.

The work avoids the clutter of a full holiday scene to focus instead on the singular charm of the ornaments themselves. Each sphere and spindle carries a sense of weight and history, rendered with a clarity that honors the physical presence of these seasonal treasures. It is a quiet meditation on the objects we keep and the small, glimmering fragments of joy they represent year after year.
