In this composition, Goggin rejects the muted tones typically associated with nightfall, opting instead for a palette that feels electric and deeply felt. The vertical orientation pulls the eye upward through layers of tangled growth, mimicking the way a garden reaches toward the sky even in the absence of the sun. Each stroke contributes to a sense of dense, rhythmic vitality, suggesting a space that is both wild and intimately contained.

The work focuses on the sensory experience of being submerged in nature, where the boundaries between individual plants blur into a singular, vibrant atmosphere. By emphasizing the height and depth of the garden, the artist invites a close-up encounter with the textures of the natural world, capturing a moment of quiet intensity that feels both grounded and otherworldly.
