In this vertical composition, Daly translates the complex layout of Montreal into a vibrant tapestry of shapes and hues. The portrait orientation emphasizes the height of the city’s landmarks and the density of its dwellings, stacking visual elements to create a sense of bustling activity. Rather than focusing on cold stone or glass, the artist uses a warm palette and whimsical lines to highlight the personality of the local environment.

Every corner of the frame is filled with a sense of movement, suggesting the constant flow of life through the city's arteries. By simplifying forms and heightening color, Daly strips away the grit of the metropolis to reveal a joyful, accessible version of the urban experience. The result is a piece that feels less like a map and more like a fond memory of a day spent wandering through lively streets.
