In this portrait-oriented work, Goggin explores the verticality of the Japanese capital, stacking architectural elements to mimic the soaring experience of standing within a neon-lit canyon. The composition relies on a sense of 'fusion,' where individual buildings lose their distinct borders and merge into a collective tapestry of glass, steel, and light. By utilizing a narrow frame, the artist emphasizes the density of the urban environment, forcing the viewer’s eye to climb through the layers of the city.

There is a palpable kinetic energy in the way the shapes interact, suggesting the constant motion of a living organism. Rather than a static postcard view, the work feels like a psychological map of a metropolis, capturing the sensory overload and structured complexity of Tokyo. The focus remains on the structural rhythm and the way light filters through the narrow gaps of a high-rise landscape, grounding the viewer in the physical reality of modern city life.
