Mediterranean Morning navigates the delicate balance between abstract form and botanical detail. The composition uses a portrait orientation to draw the eye upward, mimicking the growth of flora toward the early sun. By layering the soft washes of watercolour with the more substantial textures of oil, the artist creates a sense of depth that mirrors the layered atmosphere of a seaside garden at dawn.

There is a rhythmic quality to the way nature is represented here, focusing on the essence of the landscape rather than a literal transcription. The interplay of light and shadow suggests a world mid-bloom, inviting a meditative focus on the organic shapes and cool tones that define the Mediterranean coast. It is a study of quietude, capturing the brief, silvered moments before the heat of the day takes hold.
