This piece draws directly from the rhythmic simplicity of Henri Matisse, reimagining a living space through a lens of flattened perspective and vibrant abstraction. The composition relies on a harmony of soft curves and sharp angles, where furniture and decor become silhouettes of pure color. By blending the thick, tactile appearance of acrylic painting with the delicate washes typical of watercolour, the artist creates a sense of depth that invites the eye to linger on the interplay of light and shadow.

Set within a classic frame, the portrait orientation emphasizes the verticality of the interior, guiding the viewer from the patterned floor to the suggestive details of the walls. It is a study in how minimal forms can evoke a rich, lived-in atmosphere without relying on realistic detail. The digital medium allows for a crispness in the linework that honors the tradition of mid-century illustration while maintaining a fresh, graphic clarity.
