In this whimsical cartographic study, Carla Daly reimagines the familiar silhouette of Massachusetts as a dense tapestry of color and character. The composition utilizes a wide landscape format to stretch from the western hills to the hooked tip of the Cape, filling the space with a sense of movement and communal energy. Rather than strict topographical accuracy, the focus remains on the spirit of the place, rendered through a distinct illustrative hand that favors warmth and accessibility.

The artwork functions as both a map and a narrative, encouraging the viewer to scan the horizon for recognizable landmarks and regional quirks. By flattening the perspective and using a bright, saturated palette, Daly creates a visual environment that feels inviting and storied. The horizontal expanse allows the eye to wander naturally across the state, mirroring the experience of a road trip through a landscape defined by its friendly, storied atmosphere.
