In this monochromatic exploration, 5wingerone utilizes the stark contrast of ink to navigate the space between figuration and total abstraction. The work is defined by a dense network of lines and washes that suggest a figure emerging from—or receding into—a chaotic void. There is a palpable sense of movement in the application, where every stroke feels like a recorded heartbeat, grounding the ethereal subject in a heavy, physical medium.

The vertical orientation emphasizes a towering, spectral quality, inviting the viewer to confront the 'spirit' mentioned in the title. Rather than providing a clear likeness, the artist leans into an expressionist approach, prioritizing the emotional resonance of the mark-making over anatomical precision. The result is a piece that feels both quiet and loud, a visual meditation on the shadows that linger just beneath the surface of the conscious mind.
