Art Analysis
A rhythmic architecture of vibrant digital shapes.
In Layered Forms 1, Ristova utilizes the precision of digital tools to arrange a series of organic and geometric silhouettes. The composition relies on a vertical orientation to stack these elements, creating a visual ladder of color that draws the viewer upward through shifting textures and repeating motifs. Rather than a singular focal point, the work celebrates the collective energy of its parts, where each segment of pattern contributes to a larger, cohesive puzzle.
The palette is unapologetically bold, using high-contrast tones to define the boundaries of each shape. By overlapping translucent and solid forms, the artist suggests a physical depth that belies the flat screen, making the digital medium feel tactile and layered. It is a study in balance, showing how disparate patterns can coexist within a structured, portrait-aligned frame to produce a feeling of energetic stillness.
This piece leverages digital tools to achieve precise color gradients and sharp edges that define its non-representational aesthetic.
A diverse and saturated palette creates a sense of movement and cheer throughout the vertical frame.
The work relies on recurring motifs and structured arrangements to build a complex visual language.
