In this digital composition, Carla Daly reimagines the African continent as an accessible, illustrated landscape. The map serves as a structural foundation for a variety of cartoon animals, each placed within their respective regions to create a sense of discovery and spatial awareness. By using a squared orientation, the artist balances the organic shapes of the coastline with a structured, graphic clarity that feels both organized and energetic.

The use of a saturated, colourful palette distinguishes different terrains and zones, making the educational aspect of the map feel like a visual narrative. Rather than focusing on topographical detail, the work emphasizes the character of the inhabitants—from smiling giraffes to sturdy elephants—rendered with clean lines and a friendly aesthetic. It is a piece that prioritizes clarity and cheer, turning a geographic overview into an engaging piece of digital art.
