Art Analysis
From the artist, Yuli Saputra
A rhythmic balance of clay tones and structured geometry
In this composition, Saputra explores the dialogue between soft, rounded forms and the sharp discipline of linear elements. The palette is rooted in the natural world, using muted terracotta and clay tones that provide a warm foundation for the more rigid, structural overlays. By placing these disparate languages together, the artist achieves a sense of stillness that feels both intentional and relaxed.
The vertical orientation emphasizes a structured growth, reminiscent of Scandinavian design principles where functionality meets raw beauty. The classic frame serves to contain this internal energy, focusing the eye on the subtle tensions between the hand-drawn feel of the shapes and the mathematical precision of the lines. It is a study in equilibrium, offering a tranquil focal point for a modern living space.
The artist utilizes refined angular shapes and faceted forms to build the dog's likeness from a series of sharp, interlocking planes.
The artwork utilizes clean lines, simple geometric shapes, and a functional aesthetic to convey the essence of its subject.
The harmonious blend of earth-inspired colors and balanced proportions evokes a feeling of quietude.
The artist employs graphic design elements to define space and create a sophisticated, layered composition.
