Art Analysis
A rhythmic vertical ascent of chromatic geometry
In this composition, Valle utilizes the sharp, angular geometry of the chevron to create a sense of perpetual movement. The repeating V-shapes act as directional markers, guiding the eye upward through a calculated sequence of tones. By stacking these forms, the artist explores how simple linear boundaries can define complex spatial relationships, turning a flat surface into a layered architectural experience.
The portrait orientation emphasizes the structural height of the work, allowing the patterns to stack like a colorful spine. Each segment is defined by clean edges and flat applications of color, stripping away texture to focus entirely on the interplay of shape and hue. The result is a balanced study in symmetry and visual rhythm that feels both grounded and kinetic.
The piece breaks down its subject into a series of non-representational shapes and bold color fields.
The portrait format allows the artist to stack repeating elements to create a sense of upward momentum.
The alternating colors within the repeating chevron forms create a visual pulse similar to a musical beat.
