Art Analysis
The Rhythmic Pulse of Organic Blue Forms
In this portrait-oriented composition, Solomoniuk focuses on the interplay of saturation and transparency. The work centers on a series of flowing, rounded shapes that appear to drift across the surface, mimicking the natural behavior of water or ink in motion. By layering various shades of blue, the artist creates a structural complexity that feels both grounded and ethereal, inviting the eye to follow the soft curves and sharp intersections of each form.
The vertical alignment emphasizes the cascading nature of the shapes, drawing the viewer’s gaze from top to bottom as if watching a slow descent. There is a quiet confidence in the way the negative space interacts with the bold pigments, ensuring that the fluid elements remain the primary focus. The result is a balanced study of color and contour that prioritizes a calm, atmospheric presence.
Watercolour washes break through the rigid outlines, adding a sense of movement and organic imperfection to the abstract fruit forms.
By working strictly in black and white, the piece relies on contrast and line weight to create a sense of three-dimensional form.
The portrait orientation focuses the viewer's attention on the upward movement of the trunk and the floating bubbles.
