In this portrait-oriented composition, Ristova explores the weight and direction of singular lines as they weave across the frame. The work avoids clutter, choosing instead to focus on the kinetic quality of the marks, which appear to drift and coil like smoke or shifting water. By prioritizing a vertical alignment, the artist emphasizes a feeling of growth and upward momentum, allowing the viewer’s eye to follow the undulating paths from top to bottom.

The simplicity of the palette ensures that the focus remains entirely on the structural integrity of the forms. There is a tactile quality to the way the lines interact, sometimes converging into dense clusters and other times thinning out into delicate, solitary threads. This balance of density and space creates a visual rhythm that feels both grounded and light, capturing a fleeting moment of physical flow held in stillness.
