In this monochrome photograph, Tagliarino explores the brief intersection of two lives—the observer and the observed. The portrait utilizes the physical boundary of the bus window to create a natural frame, isolating the subject's face and emphasizing the directness of their stare. By stripping away color, the artist directs all attention to the textures of the scene and the play of light across the subject's features, highlighting a raw, unscripted honesty often lost in the blur of transit.

The composition leans into the vertical orientation to mirror the upright posture of a seated passenger, grounding the viewer in the physical reality of the journey. There is a quiet tension in the gaze, a mixture of curiosity and recognition that speaks to the shared experience of moving through the world. Tagliarino avoids artifice, instead relying on the stark contrasts of black and white photography to document a momentary encounter that feels both intimate and anonymous.
