Art Analysis
The vertical ascent of morning light
In this work, Böhmer explores the subtle gradations of color that define the start of a new day. The vertical composition draws the eye upward, mimicking the natural ascent of the sun as it breaks through the lingering shadows of night. The artist focuses on the interplay between soft, diffused tones and the emerging clarity of the morning air, creating a sense of stillness that feels both grounded and expectant.
The portrait format serves as a deliberate frame for this atmospheric study, allowing the viewer to experience the spatial depth of the horizon. By isolating the essential elements of the dawn, Böhmer strips away the noise of the day to focus on the raw, visual texture of light. The result is a focused meditation on change and the quiet energy found in the world's daily awakening.
The portrait orientation creates an intimate, narrow field of view that draws the viewer closer to the subject.
The work focuses on the 'wings of change' as a metaphor for the invisible shifts that define human experience.
The artist uses a focused, uncluttered approach to let the interplay of light and color define the visual experience.
