In this portrait-oriented composition, Böhmer explores the physical language of abstraction through a series of deliberate, layered gestures. The work centers on the interplay between transparency and density, as individual brush strokes overlap to create a sense of structural depth. By stripping away representational forms, the artist directs the viewer's attention to the tactile quality of the medium and the subtle variations in pressure applied across the frame.

The vertical alignment emphasizes the upward momentum of the marks, giving the piece a grounded yet fluid presence. There is a quiet rigor in how the negative space interacts with the painted elements, ensuring that the arrangement feels balanced and intentional. This study of form and motion invites a close reading of the artist's process, highlighting the beauty found in the simple, unadorned act of painting.
