Art Analysis
The tactile depth of earth-toned digital strokes
In this work, Saputra explores the emotional weight of warm brown tones, moving away from flat color to embrace a rugged, scratched surface. The composition relies on the physical presence of these marks, which overlap and intersect to create a sense of three-dimensional space within a flat plane. The result is a visual field that feels both ancient and immediate, grounded by a palette that suggests weathered parchment or sun-drenched earth.
Framed within a classic border, the portrait orientation emphasizes the vertical movement of the strokes, drawing the viewer into a mysterious interior world. The Scandi influence is evident in the restrained color story and the focus on texture as the primary subject. By balancing digital precision with the appearance of natural wear, the artist creates a piece that feels deeply personal and tactile.
Soft, grainy details are layered throughout the composition to give the flat silhouettes a sense of physical presence.
The composition reflects a Scandi aesthetic through its clean lines and focus on the elemental simplicity of the northern landscape.
The piece leverages modern tools to achieve a clean, balanced aesthetic that suits minimalist interior spaces.
A traditional border contrasts with the digital medium, situating the work within a lineage of fine art presentation.
