About Nicholas

Every sale pays Nicholas directly.A meaningful share of each purchase goes to the artist.

Nicholas Angelo is a Los Angeles-based artist whose practice is rooted in a deep investigation of American power structures. With an academic background in Urban Studies and an MFA from CalArts, Angelo translates complex social realities into diagrammatic works that explore the intersections of politics and culture. His multidisciplinary approach often draws from his personal history working in needle exchange programs, addressing the opioid epidemic and the mediated nature of life today. Through miniature dioramas and architectural façades, he builds a visual language that critiques the institutions shaping our daily experience.

Visual voice

Angelo utilizes mapping and architectural façades to create a diagrammatic aesthetic that feels both analytical and visceral. His work often incorporates miniature dioramas to examine the hyper-mediated state of modern existence and the weight of political systems.
