Cassia Beck

Cassia Beck is a Brighton-based visual artist whose practice is rooted in the tactile process of hand-cut paper collage and photography. After earning her degree in Workshop Ceramics from the University of Westminster in 2000, she developed a distinct approach that draws heavily from the aesthetics of mid-century graphic design and the iconic compositions of vintage Penguin book covers. Her work is characterized by the use of found papers and vintage materials to construct abstract narratives. By pairing bold, saturated shapes with archival black-and-white imagery, Beck creates a dialogue between the past and the present. Her pieces have been exhibited internationally, with notable appearances at the 2024 Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and galleries across London, Brighton, and Canada.
