In this work, Hearn utilizes the digital medium to bridge the gap between a quiet night landscape and the surreal depths of the galaxy. The vertical composition draws the eye upward, moving from the grounded reality of the earth toward a luminous rupture in the sky that suggests a threshold to another dimension. It is a study of scale and wonder, placing the viewer at the very edge of a cosmic discovery.

The piece leans into the surrealist tradition by juxtaposing a recognizable outdoor setting with impossible celestial phenomena. By treating space not as a distant void but as an accessible portal, Hearn creates a sense of quiet invitation. The interplay of deep shadows and astral light defines the scene, offering a meditative look at the mysteries that linger just beyond the visible atmosphere.
