Teagan White is a Chicago-born "outsider naturalist" currently based in the Pacific Northwest. After earning a BFA in Illustration from the Minneapolis College of Art & Design in 2012, they have dedicated their practice to documenting the intricate relationships within the natural world. A prominent member of THE VACVVM illustration collective, White’s work has been recognized by the Society of Illustrators and featured in solo exhibitions such as Drought and The Cull. Utilizing a delicate combination of gouache, watercolor, and cyanotype, White explores the somber intersections of biodiversity loss and ecological degradation. Their compositions navigate the cyclical nature of life and death, a focus that has led to collaborations with institutions such as the Smithsonian and brands like Patagonia and Nike.
