About Shukstar

Every sale pays Shukstar directly.A meaningful share of each purchase goes to the artist.

Based in Uzbekistan, the artist known as Shukstar builds surreal environments that bridge the gap between mid-century Americana and the far reaches of the galaxy. The practice relies on the meticulous assembly of vintage fragments, repurposing historical photography to construct new, imaginative territories. Shukstar’s work focuses on the tension between the terrestrial and the cosmic. By placing figures from the 1950s and 60s into alien landscapes, the artist explores themes of exploration and human curiosity. These compositions use grainy textures and a specific color language to evoke the feeling of a rediscovered past.
