About Rebecca

Every sale pays Rebecca directly.A meaningful share of each purchase goes to the artist.

Rebecca Cunningham is a South East Queensland-based interdisciplinary artist and researcher whose work bridges the gap between the natural world and human experience. Holding a Bachelor of Music and Honours in Creative Industries, she brings a multi-sensory perspective to her visual practice, which often centers on the intricate details of Australian flora and fauna. Her signature "ink and stick" technique allows for a raw, tactile engagement with the landscape, a method she has showcased in solo exhibitions like 2023’s Daughter. As a founding director of the Brisbane artist-run initiative "exist," Cunningham has shared her exploration of environmental intertextuality with audiences from New York to Hanoi.

Visual voice

Cunningham’s aesthetic is defined by a rhythmic "ink and stick" application that captures the delicate textures of native Australian species. Her work weaves together environmental intertextuality and emotional resonance, grounding abstract concepts of nature within the physical reality of the landscape.
