Pink circles behind black lobes
This vertical composition centers on a dark, multi-lobed cluster that rises through the middle of the frame. The solid black form consists of rounded, irregular shapes that branch out into curved lines and protruding edges. Behind this central mass, four pale salmon pink circles are placed at different heights. The largest circle sits at the top, while three smaller ones occupy the lower corners and the bottom edge, all set against a plain white background.
The arrangement relies on the contrast between the flat pink discs and the complex, interconnected black figure. While the black shape appears as one continuous, knotted unit, the pink circles are separated from one another, appearing to float at various depths. The white space surrounding the central cluster keeps the focus on the middle of the image, where the black lobes overlap the largest pink circle.
As part of a series that includes titles like "The Beginning" and "Party," this specific piece, "The Rising," continues the artist's use of pop art character and rhythmic, floating figures.
