Gold foliage against gray bars
A tall, narrow column made of stacked gray bars sits in the middle of a white background. These horizontal bars are separated by thin white lines and have rough, painterly edges. A single plant stem with several leaves is placed over the lower section of the column, reaching toward the right side of the frame. The composition follows the artist's goal of creating modern minimalist graphic art with an elegant touch.
The gray bars are a flat, solid color, while the plant stem and its leaves show different light and dark tones that suggest a metallic gold surface. The stem starts near the bottom of the gray column and tilts upward, crossing over the bars and extending slightly past their right edge. The contrast between the straight, stacked shapes and the organic form of the leaves creates the central focus of the piece.
