Floral and Botanical Art

Floral and Botanical Art

Floral and Botanical Art is blooming (excuse the pun), with many of us choosing to adorn our homes and walls with beautiful and colourful flora and fauna inspired prints. But botanic art is nothing new. Artists have painted, sketched and photographed nature in all it’s glory since the beginning of time.

And botanical prints and artworks are still flourishing today. Don’t want to take care of a demanding plant at home? Buy a nature inspired art print instead. Prints of green plants have become particularly popular, with the monstera plant and ficus tree leading the way. On arthaus we have them all.

If you fancy a bit of greenery in your own home without the responsibility of keeping a plant alive how about this simple Monstera Leaf print. Want something more quirky and unique, how about Vitor Costa’s print of the Monstera leaf, full of colour and life.

If the ficus tree and the colour pink are you thing, then you’ll love Anne Amanda’s botanical prints. Several variants are available in this colour combination to create the perfect botanical art set.

Throughout history floral art has been used as a form of decoration. Today nothing has changed, apart from perhaps artists are more creative with their subject matter. Take these floral prints by Pedro Tapa, combining strong female characters amongst a blooming background of bright flowers.

If Skull Art is your thing, the floral aesthetic has even encroached onto the macabre, this floral skull artwork being a case in point.

If you prefer something more fruity check out this Forbidden Orange print by 83 Oranges, as well as some of the pineapple inspired art, like this pineapple print by Vitor Costa.

Finally we couldn’t go without talking about the humble cactus and its popularity in art. We have a lot of cactus art on arthaus. Perhaps our favourite are these examples by Ana Limon. If you prefer the minimal elegance of black and white art, this cactus print is for you. If you like a bit more colour in your life how about the pastel hues in this colourful cactus print also by Ana Limon.
