Emily Lovejoy is a New Orleans-based multidisciplinary artist and photographer who explores the complexities of identity and human emotion. After earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis on painting from the University of New Orleans in 2012, she developed a practice rooted in surreal portraiture and mixed media. Her work investigates social interconnection, often capturing the subtle nuances of how individuals relate to one another and their environments. Beyond her personal studio practice, Lovejoy founded Lovejoy Creative in 2020 to manage galleries and organize group exhibitions. Her art has been featured at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art and the Claire Elizabeth Gallery, and was recognized as an "Editor's Pick" by the creative platform Booooooom. She continues to live and work in New Orleans, blending traditional painting techniques with photography to examine the human condition.
