Transparent compensation, always.

Claudio Parentela is a self-taught multimedia artist and freelance journalist based in Catanzaro, Italy. Since 1995, he has been a prolific figure in the international underground scene, building a practice that spans illustration, photography, and collage. His work is deeply rooted in the raw energy of industrial and noise music subcultures, often emerging from collaborations with experimental musicians and poets. Parentela’s process balances a long-term technical dedication to black Indian ink with the chaotic layering of mixed media. His pieces explore the contradictions of the human soul and the pursuit of personal freedom through a lens of absurdity. Having exhibited from the Diesel Gallery in New York to the Casoria Contemporary Art Museum in Naples, he continues to document the strange and the surreal.

Visual voice

Parentela’s aesthetic is defined by an eclectic mix of black Indian ink and dense, chaotic mixed-media layering. His work captures the absurdity of human existence through surreal compositions that mirror the abrasive textures of industrial and noise music.
