Cathy Earle is a Canadian artist whose practice is rooted in a disciplined approach to colour. After completing her studies at Lambton College and the Ontario College of Art, she developed a signature method of layering watercolours mixed solely from a limited palette of primary pigments. This technical process results in highly saturated compositions that capture the intense clarity and depth of her subjects. An elected member of the Ontario Society of Artists and the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour, Earle has earned twelve Exhibition Assistance Grants from the Ontario Arts Council. Her work frequently examines the interplay of light through glass reflections, alongside detailed studies of birds, fruit, and floral life. Her illustrations have appeared in publications such as Charleston Magazine and Harrowsmith Country Life, reflecting a career built on technical precision and the observation of the natural world.
