Bethany makes poetry

Based in Paris, Bethany makes poetry is a visual artist who has been refining a tactile collage practice since 2007. Their work is built from the physical debris of the city and the intimate traces of daily life, utilizing found materials such as weathered metro posters, magazines, and tracing paper. By integrating handwriting and organic elements like rose petals, they assemble fragments of the unseen into layered, hand-cut compositions. The artist’s practice explores the intersection of urban grit and internal landscapes, notably through series such as the metro-inspired "4x3" and "BLACK ATLASS." Their work has been featured in exhibitions at Point Éphémère with the Barbi(e)turix collective and the Festival Le Court Nous Tient, alongside a studio residency at Centotto. Each piece remains a manual exploration of emotional movement and social revolt.
