Annie Tasse

Native-born Laurentian, Annie Tassé showed a keen interest in graphic art at a very young age.  Very quickly, armed with brushes and paint pots, she discovered a treasure trove of creativity in her. Her interest in stagecraft, bleak and colourful, led her to study interior design and, later, drawing animation,a field in which she worked for several years. During the same period of time, she produced many illustrations for educational game manuals. Finally, in 2001, she decided to fully dedicate herself to her passion for painting, which has always been in the back of her mind. Since then, she has been an active participant in many symposia and artist collectives. She joined regional artists associations and, in 2004, she met Geneviève Jost, a renowned and accomplished artist in the field of naive pictorial art who became an important mentor in Annie’s career path. In 2005, her first solo exhibit was a great success: she was commissioned by the Jeannine Blais Gallery in North Hatley to produce paintings for the 2006 Groupe PharmEssor calendar (the pharmacy chain Essaim). Aware of her constant need to evolve and grow as an artist, she participated in many workshops in order to acquire and perfect new techniques. Her learning curve has led her to explore her two current art styles: illustration and contemporary art. From 2007 until today, Annie’s works have been exhibited in an art gallery on the site of Mont-Tremblant.
